The Director of Military Training, Nigerian Defence Academy, Major General Sani Mohammed, has emphasised that the training of senior direct regular commission officers of the Nigerian Army will enhance their skills and competencies, ensuring they remain aligned with contemporary global standards and objectives.
Major General Mohammed said this while declaring the leadership and strategic studies course 3/ open in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
Representing the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Olufemi Oluyede at the event, he emphasised that the course will develop participants’ theoretical and practical understanding and foster confidence, innovation and self-reliance in leadership and strategic management.

“The program is designed to empower senior direct regular commission officers with the requisite expertise to lead effectively and navigate evolving strategic environments in furtherance of our national security imperatives.
“I encourage you to seize this opportunity to learn, grow, and prepare for leadership in the 21st century. I must emphasize the unique value of this program to the participants. Please pay close attention to all the facilitators and directing staff as their insights will be very critical in your career development,” he said.
The Director General of the Nigerian Army Resource Center, Maj Gen Garba Wahab (rtd) urged participants to be committed to the programme adding that active engagement in the course would not only refine their leadership skills but also foster collaboration and innovative thinking among peers.
“This is a program, as you’ve been told, specifically meant for the Director General of the Division of Commissioning Officers of the rank of Lieutenant-Colonels and Colleagues. And it was established or developed to bridge the gap, between the training given to combatant officers and Director General officers. We are here today to inaugurate the course,” he said.
He said the training will foster a culture of resilience and innovation, enabling officers to respond proactively to diverse operational demands.
