President Tinubu Renews Shinkafi’s Tenure As SMDF Executive Secretary

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has renewed the appointment of Fatima Umaru Shinkafi as the Executive Secretary of the Solid Minerals Development Fund.

The Presidential Spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, issued a subsequent statement regarding key appointments to the National Universities Commission, the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC), and the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD).

In the statement, it was announced that the prior designation of Yazid Shehu Umar Danfulani as the Executive Secretary of the Sustainable Development Fund/Program for Agricultural Growth in Nigeria (SMDF/PAGMI) has been revoked.

According to Onanuga, “The earlier announcement about the appointment of Yazid Shehu Umar Danfulani as the Executive Secretary of the SMDF/PAGMI, has been cancelled as there is no vacancy in the agency. 

Fatima Umaru Shinkafi was first appointed as the Executive Secretary of SMDF by President Muhammadu Buhari and She is said to be one of the driving forces of the changes in the solid mineral sector.

It would be recalled that the President on Friday, announced key appointments which included the approval of Professor Abdullahi Yusuf Ribadu, a visiting professor at the National Universities Commission (NUC), as the substantive head and the Executive Secretary of the commission.

President Tinubu also approved the appointment of Professor Salisu Shehu, a renowned academic in educational and human psychology, as the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council, NERDC.

Also appointed was Jabiru Salisu Abdullahi Tsauri, as the National Coordinator of the New Partnership for Africa Development, NEPAD.
