Anambra Support Governor Soludo For Second Term Amid Ongoing Infrastructure Transformations

The recent infrastructure developments in Anambra State under Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo have garnered widespread appreciation from residents, particularly in rural communities.

 

The governor’s successful road construction initiatives, which have greatly enhanced accessibility, have inspired many to endorse his reelection in the upcoming November 8, 2025 gubernatorial election.

During a three-day project monitoring tour by journalists, led by Commissioner for Works Engr. Ifeanyi Okoma, organized by the State Ministry of Works, community leaders across the three senatorial districts voiced their satisfaction with the quality of ongoing projects.

 

In the Anambra Central Senatorial District, Awka leaders commended the significant improvements that have turned the area into a hub of development.

 

“This is the first time since Awka was named the state capital that we are witnessing such transformative projects,” stated APGA chieftains Comrade Ozo Ochijee Modilim and Ozo Samuel Nwafor.

 

They added that recent construction efforts in Awka include the development of new government buildings, a solution innovation district, and essential roadways that enhance connectivity.

“Observers note a remarkable improvement in the city’s infrastructure—turning Awka into a more vibrant state capital and improving the livelihood of its residents.”

Locals are optimistic that these developments will bolster economic activity, ensuring residents can easily transport their goods to market, especially with the transformation of the Amansea-Ebenebe-Ugbenu-Awba Ofemili road.

 

The Traditional Ruler of Awa community, Igwe Israel Okeke Ezue, highlighted the transformative impact of the newly constructed road, stating that it has significantly improved access for both local residents and visitors from neighboring states like Enugu.

 

“The completion of this essential roadway has facilitated farmers in Awa, allowing them to transport their produce efficiently, thereby linking them to broader markets.”

 

Local resident Mr. Vincent Nwafor praised the governor’s commitment to the community, contrasting it with the previous administration’s inaction despite earlier promises.

 

“The road has opened our community to others within the state and beyond. We are for Soludo since he remembered us,” he affirmed, expressing confidence in the governor’s reelection.

 

In the Anambra North Senatorial District, local leaders also expressed their appreciation for recent road developments, noting that they have attracted non-indigenes from neighboring states.

 

They pledged their unwavering support for Governor Soludo’s second-term ambitions, echoing the sentiment across various communities.

 

Highlighting progress in Anambra South, community leaders, including Igwe Israel Okeke Ezue of Awa, expressed gratitude for road constructions that have revitalized the area.

 

“Before, Awa was not accessible due to bad roads, but today, people from all over Anambra and Enugu can easily come to Awa and do business,” he stated.

 

Such road improvements are set to create new economic opportunities, particularly for local farmers.

 

Traditional rulers from Orumba North celebrated key road projects and urban enhancements such as the Ekwulobia Flyover.

 

“These infrastructures are viewed as crucial for the region’s growth and aspirations to be recognized as one of the smart cities in the state.”

 

Business owners and community members alike are aligning their endorsements for Soludo, appreciating the infrastructural strides aimed at fostering economic activity.

 

A hotelier in Nnewi described Soludo as “the most outstanding and transparent governor Anambra has ever produced,” reflecting the widespread belief in his leadership and vision.

The contractor overseeing the construction of the new government house, Engr. Ikechukwu Nnahasi, noted that the ongoing construction of the new Government House is not only a testament to Soludo’s infrastructure focus but also to his ambitious long-term vision.

 

Nnahasi confirmed that completion is expected within weeks, signaling a pivotal moment for the Soludo administration.

 

The State Commissioner for Works, Engr Ifeanyi Okoma, emphasized the administration’s commitment to major infrastructure projects.

 

“In just under three years, Soludo’s government has awarded contracts for 621.649 kilometers of road, with 316 kilometers already completed.” Okoma articulated a vision not just for improved roads but for a complete transformation of Anambra into a business-friendly environment, aiming to reduce poverty and encourage expatriates to return and invest.”

 

However, as the lead-up to the 2025 elections unfolds, community leaders and residents remain steadfast in their support for Governor Soludo.
