To enhance the professionalism and combat readiness of the Nigerian Army, twenty-two qualified officers and soldiers from the Nigerian Army Aviation Corps have successfully completed their training and were officially designated as pilots and certified maintenance engineers.

The winging ceremony was conducted by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.

The event took place during the closing ceremony of the Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference, held at the Command Officer’s Mess in Abuja.

The COAS confirmed that their certification is to fly and maintain the Berakta TV-2 drones in the Nigerian Army inventory while describing the winging as a moral booster to operations.

This initiative aligns with the Nigerian Army’s commitment to enhancing its professional capabilities and combat readiness, adhering to the foundational principles of the Chief of Army Staff’s command philosophy.
