Kebbi State Governor Presents 2025 Budget to Assembly

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has presented the 2025 budget proposal of over N580 billion to the State House of Assembly for consideration and approval.

The budget Tagged “Budget of Economic and Infrastructural Consolidation” aims to drive economic growth and enhance infrastructure development across the state.

According to the budget breakdown, the total budget estimate stands at N580,327,469,023.80, with capital expenditure taking the lion’s share of N453,017,982,782, while recurrent expenditure is N127,309,486,651.

The state is expecting N235,228,160,910.16 as revenue statutory allocation from the federation account and internally generated revenue (IGR) of N25,979,766.80.

Governor Nasir Idris stated that the budget seeks to enhance agriculture and mineral resources, improve social welfare of workers and retirees, develop critical infrastructure, and empower women and youth.

He also expressed delight over the federal government’s decision to hand over the construction of Koko-Dabai-Mahuta road to the Kebbi State Government, assuring that the construction would be flagged off soon.

The Governor further said that his administration had distributed fertilizers free-of-charge to farmers to enhance food security, and had also empowered 65,000 persons with N100,000 each to promote self-reliance.

Governor Nasir Idris appreciated the cordial working relationship between the executive and legislative arms, which has led to significant successes in running the affairs of the state.
