New Apostolic Church Preaches Peace,  Community service

The District Apostle of the New Apostolic Church in Nigeria, Michael Enrich, has underscored the importance of peace, love and unity among Christians, urging believers to uphold the teachings of Jesus Christ to love God and love their neighbours.

Speaking to journalists during a change of leadership event at the Abuja Central Congregation, Enrich highlighted the church’s mission and the commitment of its leaders to serving the community.

District Apostole Enrich who made the statement in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, also said “Human beings and Christians should never battle against one another. As the Lord Jesus said, ‘Love God above all, and love your neighbour as yourself.”

The District Apostole of the New Apostolic Church further commended Nigerians for their dedication and integrity, commending the efforts of the District Director of the church.

He noted that apostles in the church devoted themselves fully to ministry, as they were unable to take on other jobs while focusing on caring for God’s people.

“We bring resources to this country, but we do not claim to perform miracles. Only the Lord can do that. Our role is to proclaim the gospel and prepare the people for Christ’s return,” he added.

Also speaking, the Retired Lead Apostle Geoffrey Nwogu, who has retired after 12 years of service, advised the new leadership to “shepherd the flock of Christ with humility and love.”

Dr. Nwagu said his message to the new leader is to humbly and lovingly lead the bride of Christ until the perfect day of the Lord.

Reflecting on his years of service, he revealed plans to revive his medical practice in retirement.

Discussing the challenges faced during his tenure, Nwogu stressed the importance of balancing diverse circumstances in ministry without passing judgment based solely on appearances.

The newly appointed Lead Apostle, Oscar Nwanza Kabanga, expressed his reliance on God in undertaking his new responsibilities.

“This work is of the Lord. It cannot be done alone. My duty is to remain humble and prayerful, trusting God to perfect His work,” Kabanga said.

He likened servants of God to watchmen, emphasising the need for continuous prayers and devotion.

“If you take your responsibility seriously, especially, in the religious sphere, you must stay close to God. We are merely tools in His hands, and I aim to be a good tool,” he concluded.
