Yuletide: Benue State Extends Holiday for Government Employees

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State in North Central Nigeria has issued a press release extending state government employees’ Christmas and New Year holidays.

The governor acknowledged the dedication of the Benue State workforce in advancing programs and projects for the state’s prosperity, in agreement with the Benue State Executive Council, announcing an extended holiday period from December 24, 2024, to January 6, 2025.

In a heartfelt Christmas and New Year message to the citizens of the state, Governor Alia extended his warmest greetings and best wishes for the festive season.

Recognising the significance of Christmas as a time for contemplation, gratitude, and family bonds, he highlighted the importance of embracing love, unity, and service to others.

Governor Alia emphasised the commitment to supporting the well-being of state employees, allowing them to enjoy the holiday season with their loved ones and to allow them to engage in agricultural activities.

While ensuring essential services continue unabated, critical service providers like financial institutions, security agencies, hospitals, and utilities were urged to make internal arrangements for seamless operations.

Also, as the state celebrates Christmas blessings and anticipates a prosperous 2025, Governor Alia urged unity, love, and peace among the people. He emphasised the collective effort to build a brighter and stronger Benue State.

An elated Governor Alia extended his warmest wishes for a merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year to all residents of Benue State, as well as tourists and visitors, hoping that the season brings abundant joy, renewed hope, and divine blessings.
