In the spirit of the Yuletide, Comrade Chinedu Ogah, the member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, has distributed over N200 million naira worth of food items and wrappers to the people of his constituency.

Comrade Ogah made the distributions at his country home, Item Amagu, in the Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, to mark the 2024 Christmas and Boxing Day celebrations with his constituents.

Voice of Nigeria reports that the items, which included bags of locally produced Abakaliki rice, onions, and Indomie Instant Noodles, were also accompanied by wrappers and cash gifts.

Fielding questions from newsmen shortly after the event, the lawmaker said the gesture was an annual event which normally gives him an opportunity to appreciate his people who voted him to power.

“It is not the first time we are doing this, I organise this event annually to thank my constituents. It is usually an opportunity for me to appreciate them for voting me to the position of power,” he explained.

He also said, “I promise to further make my constituents happy by attracting more dividends of democracy to them. You know that I have a plan to provide them with farm inputs during next year’s farming season, to fight against food insecurity in our area.”

The Federal lawmaker commended President Bola Tinubu and Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State for their respective contributions to fighting the hardship confronting the nation through their various empowerment programs.

He noted that the Ebonyi State governor, Francis Nwifuru, has made significant progress in improving the lives of Ebonyi people, adding that he has come to complement the efforts of the governor, by attracting constituency development projects.

According to him, “the cash and food items which were disbursed here today, were aimed at supporting the state government’s initiatives and ensuring that no one in the community goes home without essential provisions.”

Voice Of Nigeria also reports that the event pulled a large number of representatives of various community groups in the constituency, including executive members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State.
