The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo in a significant boost to healthcare delivery in the Ichida community, Anaocha Local Government Area, commissioned the St. Charles Galaxy Hospital, a state-of-the-art facility boasting over 100 beds.This initiative, driven by the local community, was realized with essential support from the Anambra State government.
During the commissioning ceremony, Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo emphasized the government’s fundamental obligation to provide essential services such as health and education to its citizens.
He commended the Ichida community for their initiative and commitment to enhancing health care access and investing in the well-being of the public.
Reverend Father Augustine Igwebuike, the hospital’s manager, articulated the facility’s mission to deliver efficient healthcare services while aiming to reduce mortality rates in neighbouring communities. Highlighting the importance of this endeavour, the Bishop of Awka Catholic Diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, officiated the dedication of the hospital, offering blessings for its successful operation.
According to the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike, “This modernly equipped hospital will increase the number of patient care in the community and environs.”
He urged the health workers to diligently attend to their patients.
The commissioning event attracted several notable guests, alongside various stakeholders and religious leaders in the area. In addition to the formal opening, the event featured a free medical outreach program aimed at benefiting community members, narrating the facility’s commitment to serving the health needs of the local population.
