The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has donated relief materials worth millions of Naira to disaster victims across the state’s three Senatorial districts.

A press statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr Kolapo Alimi said the gesture reflects the government dedication to alleviating the suffering of people and restoring hope to those in distress.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on the Osun State Emergency Management Agency, OSEMA, Mr Emiola Fakeye made the presentation on behalf of Governor.

Fakeye said; “the government was committed to ensuring that none of the victims of disasters is left unassisted across the state.”

He said; “Today’s distribution of edibles and non edibles comprising rice, garri, maize, roofing sheets and other building materials estimated at several millions of Naira is yet another commitment to proactive and responsive emergency management of the present administration in ensuring that no one is left behind in the wake of unforeseen events.

“To the disaster victims who are here today, I want to assure you that we have more than enough relief materials to go round all the affected victims whose profiles have already been captured by the officials of OSEMA.”

The Emergency Management boss explained that the distribution would be done in phases to ensure orderliness, because of the large number of beneficiaries

He assured the victims that those who do not receive relief materials in the first phase would automatically benefit in the subsequent phases, as outlined by OSEMA officials.
