The Chief Judge of Adamawa State, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman, has assured the Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) of unwavering legal backing, provided its operations remain within the confines of the law.
This assurance was given during a courtesy visit by YEDC’s Management Team, led by MD/CEO Engr. Abdulrahman Isa, to her office at the Adamawa State High Court Complex.
Engr. Isa highlighted the operational challenges faced by YEDC, which serves Adamawa, Borno, Taraba, and Yobe States.

The MD is emphasized the impact of poverty, insecurity, and economic hardship on the company’s ability to recover costs and sustain services, stating, “We must deliver electricity services to avoid collapsing the value chain and straining economic activities in the region.”
Engr. Isa also addressed issues such as energy theft, infrastructure vandalism, and assaults on YEDC personnel, while expressing gratitude for the judiciary’s role in ensuring justice in disputes involving the company.
In her remarks, Justice Abdulrahman commended YEDC’s commitment to lawful practices and assured the company of the judiciary’s cooperation.
“As long as you operate within the ambit of the law, you will have our full support. Most of your cases show you are always on the right side of the law,” she stated.
YEDC’s operations span Adamawa, Borno, Taraba, and Yobe States, delivering essential electricity services to millions.
