A former lawmaker in Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Mr. Sam Onuigbo, has urged investors to come to Nigeria and invest in startups, innovations, and other profitable sectors of the Nigerian economy.
He stated this at the 15th session of the IRENA Assembly and the World Future Energy Summit, which is part of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit 2025.
He emphasised that Nigeria has a youthful and educated population with outstanding creative and productive energy.

“As part of his engagements, Mr. Onuigbo participated in the IRENA Innovation Day Panel Discussion at the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025, alongside key stakeholders, including Patrick Westman, Head of IRENA’s Energy Transition Planning and Power Sector Transformation,” he said.
The panel discussed the importance of innovation in achieving climate resilience through sustainability, focusing on how different sectors of human activity should be integrated towards inclusive green growth and sustainable economic development.
