Serbian tennis sensation Novak Djokovic charged into the Australian Open quarter-finals after beating Jiri Lehecka, setting up a mouth-watering encounter against Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz.

A red-hot Djokovic beat Lehecka 6-3 6-4 7-6(4) to stay on course for a record 25th Grand Slam title and 11th in Melbourne.

Djokovic will face rival Alcaraz, who progressed after Jack Draper retired due to injury.

This will be a highly anticipated rematch of their recent Wimbledon final.

“He’s a very dynamic, explosive player. Incredibly talented. Charismatic player. Great to watch, not great to play against,” Djokovic said of Alcaraz.

“I look forward to it. I think when the draw was out, a lot of people were looking forward to (it). So here we are.”
