The Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has applauded the professional Conduct of the Nigerian police for maintaining law and order in the state.
In recent times, Kano has witnessed political and cultural upheavals due to the election tribunal verdicts and Emir-ship tussle.
The Commissioner of police Salman Doho Garba and his team were up to the task.
Governor Abba Yusuf made these remarks while receiving the Wife of the Inspector General of Police, Mrs Elizabeth Egbetokun, President of the Wives of Police Officers Association on a courtesy call to his office.
In the words of the Governor, “Kano has never had it so much better than now because the CP, his officers and men worked closely with the AIG in the zone as a team.”
He said the visit exhibited Mrs Elizabeth Egbetokun’s charisma, dedication and love for the Wives of the Police, assuring that his government would provide plots of land and financial assistance to the association.
According to him, “Mrs Elizabeth Egbetokun, has taken after from Mrs Tinubu who took it upon herself to go round the country assisting widows, children and the less privileged for a better life.”
Mrs Elizabeth Egbetokun said her management team were in Kano to open a new Secretariat and offer support to Widows.
She commended the Governor for his welfare to the people and sustenance of the state’s cultural values.
