Taraba Government Praises 6 Brigade Nigerian Army for Exceptional Service

Taraba State Government in North East Nigeria has commended the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army for their unwavering commitment and dedication to ensuring peace and security across the state.

According to Captain Olubodunde Oni, Acting Assistant Director, 6 Brigade Army Public Relations, the government’s appreciation was expressed during the Combined Headquarters 6 Brigade Nigerian Army West African Social Activities (WASA) 2024 held at the Jolly Nyame Stadium, Jalingo, Taraba State Capital.

The Secretary to the Government of Taraba State, Barrister Timothy Kataps, representing the Executive Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, emphasized the government’s gratitude for the Brigade’s efforts in combating insecurity and maintaining peace.

The government also reiterated its continued support to sustain the tempo of 6 Brigade operations in 2025.

Commander of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, highlighted the significance of the WASA tradition, which dates back to the early years of the Nigerian Army.

He described it as a time to reflect on the achievements of the past year and to celebrate the resilience and accomplishments of the troops.

The event featured cultural displays, the presentation of souvenirs and awards, and the lighting of the bonfire, reflecting the rich traditions of the Nigerian Army.
Dignitaries from various sectors within Taraba State attended the ceremony, strengthening the bond between the military and civilian populace.
