Monarch Urges Unity at Turbaning of First Dan Amanan Gari

The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Emirs and Obas, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, has emphasized the need for greater unity, peace, and love among the people of Ilorin Emirate and the entire state to foster meaningful development within the community and across Kwara State.

The Emir made this appeal at his palace during the official turbaning ceremony of Dr. Abdulkadir Tunji Nagode, a distinguished technocrat and prominent son of the Emirate, as the first Dan Amanan Gari of Ilorin Emirate, North Central Nigeria.

The Monarch highlighted that such titles are reserved for individuals who have made significant contributions to their community and demonstrated integrity.

He praised the recipient and his family for their efforts in this regard and encouraged Dr. Nagode to use his new title to further serve humanity and promote unity and harmony within Ilorin and Kwara State.

Alhaji Sulu Gambari expressed satisfaction with Dr. Nagode’s selection, describing him as fully deserving of the honor.

He also stressed the importance of unity among the elite, irrespective of political affiliations, to drive the collective progress of the Emirate.

The Emir seized the occasion to offer prayers for the sons and daughters of Ilorin Emirate, asking Allah to elevate them to prominent positions and bring honor to the community.

The ceremony drew prominent figures from within and outside the state, including the representative of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, AbdulRazaq Jiddah; Gaskiyan Ngeri, AbdulGaniyu Cook Olododo; Chairman of Ilorin South Local Government, Nuhu Podo; and Mallam Baba AbdulRazaq, the governor’s younger brother.

Other notable attendees included Lukman Mustapha, CEO of Sobi FM; former House of Representatives member Moshood Mustapha; Kuliyan Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate, Lawyer Yusuf Olaolu Ali (SAN); Lawyer Adebayo Adelodun (SAN); Dele Belgore (SAN); Ambassador Ahmad Sulu Gambari; the Sarauniya of Ilorin Emirate, Hajia Muinat Bola Shagaya; and Ambassador Nimota Niniola Akanbi, among others.

The event underscored the Emirate’s dedication to honoring individuals who exemplify commitment to the growth, unity, and advancement of Ilorin Emirate and beyond.
