The Kwara State Government has lauded Medical Doctors nationwide for their dedication, commitment and professionalism in upholding the health system, even as it calls for more Commitments, to strengthen health care delivery.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam, stated this during the week at year 2025 National Executive Council (NEC) Meeting of the Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), held in Ilorin.
In her address at the event with the theme; “Policy Making for Quality Health Care Service: Engaging Policy Makers for Quality Health Care Delivery,” she praised the Medical Personnels across the nation for their “unwavering commitments, tireless sacrifices, and steadfast which had been instrumental to holding Nigeria’s healthcare system together despite daunting challenges.
El-Imam used the occasion to acknowledge and celebrate the undaunted support of the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in upscaling healthcare facilities at all levels.
She described the Governor as a visionary leader, who is passionate about improving the health sector in Kwara State.
According to her, “Kwara State stands tall among its peers, offering one of the most attractive environments for healthcare professionals to thrive, with competitive salaries and conducive working conditions.
“Our amiable Governor AbdulRazaq has fully paid the Medical Residency Training Fund as part of his commitments to build the capacity for qualified doctors as well as the payment of consolidated medical salary structure (CONMESS) for all doctors in the State”.
She therefore, urged MDCAN to “encourage members of the association to remain in Nigeria and contribute to the growth of her health workforce.”
The National President, Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), Prof Mohammad Aminu Mohammad in his address called on policy makers to create sustainable and impactful policies, to elevate healthcare delivery in Nigeria, as he underscored the need for collaboration between stakeholders, with the aim of addressing pressing challenges facing the sector.
