Nigeria Thrashes Liberia 90-9 At Women’s U-18 AfroBasket Qualifiers
Nigeria’s Women’s U-18 basketball team delivered a commanding performance on Friday, thrashing Liberia with a 90-9 victory in their FIBA U-18 AfroBasket Zone 3 qualification match.
The Young D’Tigress, showing exceptional skill and coordination, will look to maintain its momentum as they prepare to face Côte d’Ivoire in their next encounter.
The tournament sees Nigeria, Liberia and hosts Côte d’Ivoire competing for the sole qualification spot to the 2024 FIBA U-18 Women’s AfroBasket, scheduled for later this month in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Côte d’Ivoire is hoping that the home advantage will propel them past their competitors, while Nigeria are determined to mark their return to the competition after a 14-year absence.
Congratulations to our ladies participating in the Fiba U-18 Afrobasket qualifying tournament in Abidjan. Their first game against Liberia was a banger.
