Kano Police Apprehends 2 Associates of Chadian Wanted Terrorist

Two Associates of a suspected Chadian Wanted Terrorist have been apprehended by the Nigerian Police in Kano State, North West Nigeria.

The Wife of the wanted terrorist who is a Nigerian was also arrested.

Parading the suspects at the Commands Headquarters in Bompai Kano, the Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo explained that the suspects were arrested following thorough investigation and intelligence-led policing, and are currently in custody with investigation ongoing.

CP Dogo said the wanted suspected terrorist, Ahmad Adam Abba, a Chadian National, was a mastermind in the killing of seventeen people in Republic of Chad.

Dogo noted that the wanted terrorist suspect was identified planning to set a terrorists base in Kano state.

He further revealed that Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were recovered by the Police who acted on one of the intelligence reports.

CP Dogo said so far, the command has ramped up its intelligence-gathering efforts across various places.

“Our teams are collaborating closely with other intelligence agencies and the communities to ensure that we are working hand-in-hand to identify any suspicious activities and individuals who may pose a security threat to our society.

“Furthermore, patrols have been intensified, and surveillance measures have been enhanced in key areas known to be vulnerable.”

According to CP Dogo, the Command, through its public relations unit will continue conducting awareness programs to educate the public on the importance of reporting suspicious activities.

“It is vital that we foster trust and cooperation between the Police and the communities we serve, as this partnership is essential in combating crime and preventing any likely emerging security threats.”

He appreciated the continued support of the Kano State Government and people of the State, reassuring the commitement of the Police in maintaining peace and order in the State.

CP Dogo encouraged residents of Kano to continue to cooperate with the Police and be proactive in providing valuable information that will aid in surmounting any likely emerging security threat.

The Deputy Director Operations of the Chadian Police, Mahammat Drya Ali who spoke in French described the joint security synergy as commendable.
