The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Tajuddeen Abbas, is pleased to announce a significant sponsorship initiative aimed at empowering hundreds of indigenes from Zaria Local Government and other local governments within Zone One of Kaduna State.
This initiative will benefit residents from the Sabongari, Soba, Ikara, Kubau, Kudan, Lere, and Makarfi areas.
Under this sponsorship, selected individuals will have the opportunity to pursue studies at the prestigious Nigerian Institute of Leather and Science Technology (NILEST).
This initiative underscores Mr Abbas’s commitment to education and skill development within the region.
The announcement was made in Abuja by Dr Auwal Mustapha Imam, the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Institute of Leather and Science Technology (NILEST), who stated that the Speaker plans to fund all of the students from the aforementioned local government areas to enrol in the institute’s science and technology programs related to leather and leather products.
“In addition, the speaker would pay for full scholarship for the students, including tuition fees and other charges; he also promised to take care of accommodation/transportation and terminal stipends for feeding and other related matters to the candidates,” Dr Imam said.
The DG therefore urged candidates who are to write JAMB this year to choose NILEST as their first choice during JAMB registration.
