Saudi Arabia Reaffirm Support For Palestinian Statehood

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has reiterated its unwavering commitment to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

The ministry in a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,emphasized that Saudi Arabia’s position on this issue is “firm and unwavering”.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in his speech at the opening of the first session of the ninth term of the Shura Council on September 18, 2024, reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s relentless efforts to establish a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He also stressed that Saudi Arabia will not establish diplomatic relations with Israel without the creation of a Palestinian state .

The Crown Prince reiterated this stance during the extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit held in Riyadh on November 11, 2024, emphasizing the need for an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands and urging peace-loving countries to recognize the State of Palestine .

Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry also reaffirmed the kingdom’s rejection of any infringement on the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including Israeli settlement policies, land annexation, and attempts to displace Palestinians from their land .

The ministry emphasized that achieving lasting and just peace is impossible without the Palestinian people obtaining their legitimate rights in accordance with international resolutions.

This position has been clarified to both the former and current U.S. administrations .
