Kwara Health Insurance Agency advocates for increased sensitization on insurance benefits

 The Kwara state Health Insurance Agency (KW-HIA) has advocated for an increase in the awareness spread on the benefits of enrolling in the state health insurance scheme at the local government level.

 

Mrs. Olubunmi Jetawo-Winter, Executive Secretary, KW-HIA, who said this on Wednesday during a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Irepodun Local Government Area, Hon. Abdulazeez Yakubu, in Omu-Aran, explained that health insurance played a crucial role in ensuring access to quality healthcare, particularly in times of economic hardship.

 

She called for an increase in sensitisation of Irepodun residents, and commended the chairman for his leadership and outstanding performance, despite the prevailing economic challenges in the country.

 

The executive secretary also acknowledged his efforts in governance and urged him to remain steadfast in his commitment to the development of the local government.

 

Reaponding, Hon. Abdulazeez Yakubu appreciated Mrs. Jetawo-Winter for the visit and pledged the local government’s cooperation in promoting the health insurance scheme.

 

Yakubu reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to improving the welfare of the people, stating that health remained a top priority in his agenda.

 

He said the visit underscored the importance of synergy between local government authorities and health agencies in achieving universal health coverage for Kwara residents.
