Emir Of Fufore Receives Staff Of Office In Grand Ceremony

The first Emir of Fufore Emirate, His Royal Highness Muhammadu Sani Ahmadu Ribadu, has been officially coronated and presented with the staff of office, marking a historic milestone in Adamawa State’s traditional leadership reforms.

The coronation follows the restructuring of the state’s traditional institutions on December 24, 2024, when Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri signed the Adamawa State Districts Creation Law, 2024.

This law established new chiefdoms and emirates, including Fufore Emirate.

The event was a colorful spectacle, drawing people from Fufore’s nine districts, neighboring chiefdoms, and even visitors from Cameroon.

Adorned in vibrant traditional attire, attendees celebrated with cultural dances and a majestic Durbar procession, paying homage to Governor Fintiri and other dignitaries.

In his address, Governor Fintiri reaffirmed that the new emirate structure would ensure that traditional rulers emerge from within their communities, fostering unity and effective governance.

The Chairman of the Central Working Committee, the Sardauna Ribadu, Mallam Abubakar Jijiwa, emphasizing that the  Emir’s deep-rooted dedication to grassroots development, would bring about the need development of the Emirate.

In his acceptance speech, the Emir pledged to lead with inclusivity, ensuring that all subjects, regardless of background, feel represented and empowered under his reign.

To the good, supportive and loving people of my Emirate, I want to assure you that under my reign, Insha Allah, every community and individual will be treated equally and fairly, regardless of ethnicity,  class or creed.

I will be the Emir for all people of Fufore Emirate. I will listen to their concerns and carry their pains, happiness, dreams and goals,” said Emir Ribadu.

With the Fufore coronation concluded, preparations are now underway for the installation of traditional rulers in six more emirates and chiefdoms: Yungur Chiefdom, Hoba Chiefdom, Madagali Chiefdom, Michika Chiefdom, Gombi Chiefdom, and Maiha Emirate.

These ceremonies are expected to further solidify Adamawa State’s commitment to preserving and modernizing its rich cultural heritage.
