Kada Queens Finish Third At African Hockey Championships
Kada Queens Hockey Club of Kaduna won the bronze medal in the women’s championship of the 2025 Africa Cup for Club Champions on Friday in Ismailia, Egypt.
The Nigerian side secured a podium finish after defeating Mombasa of Kenya 1-0 in the third-place match. The only goal of the match was scored by Njoku Esther in the match played at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium in Ismailia.
Speaking after the game, Kada Queens coach, Baba Ndana, said the team’s target was to play in the final match. He however appreciated the Kaduna hockey stakeholders and specifically the State Governor, Uba Sani, for their support.
“We thank God for this victory. Kudos to the girls for a job well done. I also want to thank the Kaduna stakeholders for their support and encouragement,” Ndana said.
“We also want to thank all the teams that represented Nigeria for their support in our last match. It is unfortunate that we did not play the final match which was our target.”
