The 2024 Headies Awards have arrived, and on Wednesday, the organizers revealed the highly anticipated nominations list for its 17th edition.

This year’s selection features a blend of local and international artists who have made remarkable contributions to the music industry over the past year. The highly anticipated 17th edition of the Headies Awards is set to celebrate outstanding contributions to the music industry, with the nominations list now officially released. Leading the pack this year is Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, who has secured an impressive five nominations, solidifying his influence in the Nigerian music scene.

 

Following closely behind are Ayra Starr (Oyinkansola Aderibigbe) and Shallipopi (Crown Uzama), each earning three nominations. Their recognition highlights their consistency and impact over the past year, as they continue to shape the evolving landscape of Afrobeats and Nigerian music.

Odumodublvck is also a strong contender in the Best Collaboration category, where he faces stiff competition from industry heavyweights like Chike, Wizkid, Zlatan, Asa, and Tiwa Savage. Notably, he has two separate entries in this category, reinforcing his dominance in the rap and collaboration scene.

 

Mohbad Honored with Three Posthumous Nominations

In a heartfelt tribute to his lasting legacy, the late Ilerioluwa Aloba, fondly known as Mohbad, has received three posthumous nominations. Despite his untimely passing on September 12, 2023, his music continues to resonate with fans and the industry alike, proving that his influence remains strong even after his departure.
