NPFL: Bendel Insurance Beats Enyimba 1-0 In Benin
Bendel Insurance Football Club defeated the visiting Enyimba FC 1-0 in a rescheduled match day 20 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) game, played at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, Edo State.
In what was a keenly contested match between the two teams, Bendel Insurance did enough to take all three points. Enyimba suffered a setback early in the first half after defender Innocent Gabriel was sent off for a foul on Insurance’s Oke.
Bendel’s Kayode Oke scored the only goal in the 55 minute, whose deflected shot found a way into the net of the visitors.
In the second half, Enyimba threw everything at the hosts with five substitutions that included ex-international Junior Lakosa, Somiari Alalibo and Chinedu Ufere in search of an equaliser, but to no avail.
Enyimba will host Rivers United in their week 25 encounter, while Bendel Insurance will face Niger Tornadoes on Sunday.
