The Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of elder statesman and Chairman of Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Chief (Dr.) Edwin Kiagbodo Clark.
In a condolence message on behalf of the 19 Northern Governors, Governor Inuwa Yahaya paid tribute to the late statesman, who died on Monday, February 27, 2025.
Governor Yahaya describes Chief Clark as an unwavering advocate for fairness and justice while praising his contributions to governance, democracy, and national discourse, which earned him widespread admiration and respect.

Extending heartfelt condolences to the Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family, the government and people of Delta State, and the entire South-South region, Governor Yahaya acknowledged Chief Clark’s tireless dedication to the betterment of Nigeria.
“Chief Edwin Clark was a fearless advocate for the rights of the marginalized and a steadfast voice for the Niger Delta and Nigeria as a whole. His unwavering commitment to justice and good governance set him apart as a true statesman. His passing is a great loss not just to the South-South but to the entire nation,” he stated.

The governor prayed for the repose of Chief Clark’s soul and asked for divine strength for his family, loved ones, and the people of the South South and Nigeria as they mourn this immense loss.
