Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan, has reaffirmed the Borno State Government’s commitment to ensuring a smooth and transparent distribution of palliatives ahead of the Ramadan fast.

Speaking at a high-level stakeholder meeting convened at the directive of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, the Lawmaker emphasized that the initiative aims to replicate last year’s successful program, which benefited 100,000 households across Maiduguri Metropolitan and Jere Area Councils.

“We have carefully reviewed the challenges that may arise during the exercise and have made strategic decisions to ensure that every household within the 15 wards of Maiduguri Metropolitan benefits without obstacles,” Senator Lawan stated.

This meeting follows an earlier one held two weeks ago, where stakeholders deliberated on how best to enhance efficiency and fairness in the distribution process.

To further expand the initiative’s reach, Senator Lawan announced that a similar stakeholder meeting will be held in Jere to address logistical concerns and ensure a hitch-free exercise in that area.

He also reassured residents that the program remains non-partisan, cutting across all political affiliations.

The proactive approach by the Borno State Government is aimed at preventing bottlenecks and ensuring that relief reaches vulnerable households without delays or disruptions during the holy month of Ramadan.
