Kaduna State Introduces Modern Container For Informal Business Activities
The Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KASUPDA) has introduced modern containers designed to regulate informal business activities in the state.
Mr Abdurrahman Yahya, the Director-General of KASUPDA, announced this on Wednesday in Kaduna state.
He explained that the initiative was the result of an agreement between KASUPDA and two consultants, Shelter Method Limited and Icart African, to supply the containers.
He said, “KASUPDA introduced this initiative in line with the commitment and concern of His Excellency, Governor Uba Sani, for those engaged in informal business activities along roads in urban areas of the state.
“KASUPDA is responsible for urban planning, and this innovation will help beautify and decongest the city, ensure safety, and enhance small business activities across the state”.
The D-G further stated that the two appointed consultants would supply the modern containers to all approved hawkers at an agreed and affordable price.
“The Authority hereby calls on all affected traders to identify suitable locations and submit applications to KASUPDA for further necessary action,” the statement added.
