The Green Revolution Farmers Feed the Nation Foundation (GRFFNF) has launched an initiative, Green Rewards Farm settlement, aimed at reducing unemployment, violence, drug abuse and other crimes and criminality in the Nigerian contemporary society.

Speaking at a News briefing on Thursday in Abuja, the Chairman, Hon. Amb Jonathan David Okwudiri who made the announcement reiterated that the foundation boasts of over one million membership strength of women and youth from the 774 LGAs in the 36 states of Nigeria, including FCT.
According to him, the initiative aligns with the Nigerian government’s vision to boost agricultural production, reduce poverty and also create employment opportunities.
It also provides financial support to farmers through grants, loans and financial literacy training.
The innovative solution is designed to provide farmers with easy access to financial resources enabling them to enhance their agricultural productivity and also contribute to the nation’s food security.
In his words, “the summary of the event is that we are going into agriculture fully, having known what Nigerians are going through today when it has to do with food security.
“There is hunger in the land, there is hardship. We have acquired hectares of land, about 150,000 in each geopolitical zone and we are going into agriculture fully.
” We have come today to address my members to let them know the next line of action and as well letting them know that we have launched an agricultural project fund and Empowerment initiative, where about 1 million women and youth will be empowered financially.
“We’re partnering with Zenith, Fidelity and Polaris bank respectively. ALSO a customized prepared ATM card will be issued to the 1million people so that they can access the funds.”
On intending partnership with the government, he solicited the support of the government by partnering with them through provisions of seedlings, fertilizer and also creating an enabling environment for farmers and to enable them to cultivate effectively.
“My humble advice to the Nigerian government is to partner with NGOs like ours, it will help reduce the hardship and lack of food in the country.
“We have launched operation feed the Nation, we are willing, we have all it takes to provide food for the 36 states and equally export outside Nigeria” he added.
Representative of Young Women Rise Empowerment and Support Initiative ( YWRESI), Mrs Chinyere Adaghe, explained that part of the organization’s goal is to defend women’s right, defend and advocate for the fundamental rights of Young Women and also implement policies for child education, health, development and also prevent child abuse, trafficking and exploitation.
The foundation, however, called on members of the public to participate in the 5-day Royal Ambassadors Gathering Week to be held in Abuja in April, 2025.
The theme of the programme is: “Building global partnership for sustainable impact, innovations and development “.
