Nigerian Senator Rallies Support For Kwara United FC

The Senator representing Kwara North constituency, Senator Sadiq Umar, has called for support of all Kwarans for the state’s darling team, Kwara United FC, especially at this critical moment in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The Senator, who is one of the strong supporters of Kwara United, pledged continuous support for the team and said that the team is doing well to attract the support of all.

Senator Umar, who hosted the Chairman of Kwara United Football Club, Kumbi Titiloye in Abuja on invitation, said that his gesture was to sustain the complementary efforts of the State government, on the team.

“Our Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has shown considerable support for sports and for Kwara United, since 2019, when he raise the profile of the club with the purchase of NPFL ticket,” Senator Umar said.

“The management, under your watch has aSenator Umarlso demonstrated remarkable skills at keeping the team afloat in the elite league, despite numerous obstacles and challenges. And that’s why you deserve our support at all times.”

Kwara United are placed 10th on the NPFL table with 36 points and could possibly win a continental ticket at the end of the season.

The team has also qualified for the 2025 President Federation Cup finals after winning the State final, beating Abubakar Bukola Saraki Ilorin Football Club 5-4 on penalties, after a 1-1 draw at regulation time.

“I have been following the team and it’s successes. And motivating the team for us shouldn’t be out of place, as critical stakeholders and supporters of the team,” Senator Umar added.

“With the current standing of the team, vis-a-vis the other hostilities in the season, the team stands a better chance of winning another continental ticket under your leadership and with our support, the coast will be clearer.”

“I will also want to charge the team to strive to sustain thier performance, to achieve the task,” he concluded.

Kwara United FC will next play Sunshine Stars in the Matchday 27 of the ongoing 2024/2025 NPFL, at the Remo Stars Stadium in Akure, on Sunday at 4.00pm (WAT).
