OpenAI Launches ChatGPT-4.5

OpenAI has unveiled GPT-4.5, its most advanced AI language model to date. Currently, GPT-4.5 is available to ChatGPT Pro subscribers, who pay $200 per month, as part of a research preview. The company plans to extend access to other subscription tiers soon.

GPT-4.5 is designed to enhance user interactions by providing emotionally intelligent responses, making conversations feel more natural and engaging. However, due to its substantial size and computational demands, the model is expensive to train and operate. OpenAI’s CEO, Sam Altman, has noted that GPU shortages have delayed its full rollout.

In addition to its conversational improvements, GPT 4.5 offers features such as web search capabilities, canvas integration, and support for file and image uploads. Despite these advancements, it does not yet support AI Voice Mode. While GPT-4.5 outperforms previous models on language benchmarks, it has been observed to lag behind smaller models like o3-mini in mathematics and science evaluations.

OpenAI plans to make GPT-4.5 available to a broader audience in the coming weeks, aiming to provide more users with access to its enhanced capabilities.
