“Reform on Food Security is working” – Agric Minister

The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari has disclosed that the reform President Bola Ahmed Tinubu initiated on food security is working as Nigerians have started feeling and seeing the impact.

Senator Kyari disclosed this in Ilorin, Kwara state capital North Central Nigeria at an agriculture and human capital development empowerment programme organised by the Senator representing Kwara Central, Saliu Mustapha, the Turaki of Ilorin.

“We have seen and feeling that food is not only available, but the prices are gradually becoming affordable”, he added.

“That is to show that the president is a champion. That is to show that the president is working for the best interest of all Nigerians.

“I also applaud my able Chairman, Senator Mustapha, who is over sighting me. He has helped put all of us on our toes to fall in line with the president’s aspiration.”

Earlier, the Deputy Senate President , Jubril Barau said that the intention of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu is to provide food for all.

“Senator Barau added that “agriculture and human capital development are the key areas that are very important to our national development. Of course, there is no need to waste much time talking about the importance of agriculture to every society.

Agriculture is the sine qua none to the survival of any society. It is the foundation of any society because without food no life.

“No wonder, the Senate decided to pick Mustapha as its Agriculture Committee Chair. He is an outstanding person and a party leader that knows everything.

“Human capital development is what is in vogue all over the world. It is what is driving the economy of every developed society and that what is the Renewed Hope Agenda of the president is all about.

“Forget it if you don’t have an arrangement that will enhance human capital development. You need to have skillful people that will drive your development.”

The deputy Senate President hailed Senator Mustapha for putting smile in the faces of constituents and also donated 200 sewing machines to support the programme.

In his remarks, Mustapha said the project is aligned with the President Tinubu’s agenda, adding that “we took time to train people interested in maintaining, repairing and restoring Solar panels.”

Items distributed were 250 deep freezers, over 400 irrigation machines, vehicles for each of the four local government areas in the senatorial district, 450 grinding machines, eight tractors, convertible tricycles, cows etal.

“We are doing this programme to support the state government in his quest to better the lot of Kwarans,” he said.

*No vacancy in Aso Rock in 2027*

Commenting, National Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ,Senator Bashir Ajibola urged the constituents to reciprocate the gesture by voting massively for all APC candidates in 2027 elections.

“I enjoin you all to support President Tinubu and Senator Mustapha in the elections with your votes. I am repeating there is no vacancy in Aso Rock in 2027,” he added.

No fewer than 2,500 were beneficiaries of the empowerment programme.
