Adamawa Governor Reaffirms Commitment to Youth Empowerment, Digital Innovation

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering youth empowerment by equipping them with essential resources, skills, and infrastructure needed to realise their potential.

Governor Fintiri made this statement at the closing ceremony of the VSAT training and the SPACEHACK 2025 youth empowerment programme, held at Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola, on Friday.

The event, themed “Building Grassroots Innovation in Satellite Technology,” was a collaboration between the Adamawa State Government and the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT).

The initiative aimed to equip young people with advanced knowledge in satellite technology and digital communication.

In his speech, delivered by Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, Fintiri highlighted the significance of technology in driving development across Adamawa State.

“Let me begin by commending NIGCOMSAT, our esteemed partners, for their collaboration in making this event a success. I also extend my heartfelt appreciation to the brilliant minds who have dedicated their time and creativity to finding solutions that will transform our communities through satellite and space technology,” Governor Fintiri stated.

Reflecting on the programme, he noted: “Over the past few days, we have witnessed groundbreaking ideas that have the potential to address challenges in agriculture, e-learning, disaster management, cybersecurity, and rural connectivity.”

Governor Fintiri reiterated his administration’s dedication to digital transformation, stressing that it is “No longer a choice but a necessity.”
