Dr. Okoro emphasised the ongoing challenges faced by financial institutions due to the dynamic global landscape and internal shifts, highlighting a lack of public awareness about the critical role of deposit protection schemes in the financial system.

“The Certificate in Deposit Protection and Financial Intelligence (CDFPI) and Executive Masters in Financial Services (EMFS) are innovative solutions designed to help leaders and managers tackle operational risk challenges using a human resource-based approach,” he said.

He added that the programs address the gap created by the absence of consolidated curricula and certification within the financial services industry.

The collaboration with the UNN Business School offers employees, practitioners, and students the opportunity to obtain basic and advanced certificates as well as postgraduate degrees in the financial services industry.

Prof. Josaphat Onwumere, Director of UNN Business School, noted that the partnership would enhance financial literacy and technology education, ensuring the protection and safety of deposits.

Mr. Amu Ogbeide, Dean of Technology at ISDIS, mentioned that the partnership would attract participation from banks, insurance companies, and other stakeholders.
