FSC Sokoto Alumni Donate ₦1.5m Water Tanks To School

The 1997 graduates of Federal Science College, Sokoto, have donated ₦1.5 million worth of water tanks and other accessories to alleviate water scarcity in the college.

 

The Association’s Chairman, Alhaji Aminu Shata, handed over the installed items to the school’s Principal, Alhaji Bala Waziri, along with other members of the school management, on Tuesday in Sokoto.

 

Shata stated that the initiative was a way of giving back to their alma mater in appreciation of the role it played in their formative years and its contribution to their community.

 

He emphasised that they had fond memories of their time at the college and remained committed to staying connected with the school.

 

This was why we initiated the project to mitigate water scarcity for both students and teachers”.

 

In his remarks, the Project Coordinator, Mr Abubakar Aliyu, explained that each of the three installed water tanks has a capacity of 3,000 litres and is connected to the water supply system.

 

Aliyu added that all tanks were fitted with necessary equipment to ensure proper water storage and flow, allowing for easy maintenance and safeguarding against vandalism.

In response, the principal expressed gratitude to the association members for their generous gesture, stating that it would significantly improve water supply in the school.

 

He also encouraged other alumni to follow their example.

Members present at the handing-over ceremony included Zayyanu Hali, Abubakar Muhammad, Francis Adogamam, Sunday Ola.
