Saudi Arabia donates Food Items To 2,450 Adamawa Households

The Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, has appreciated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for donating food items to 2,450 vulnerable households in the state.

Addressing the delegation in her office, Farauta stressed that the support would ameliorate the sufferings of the people, especially during Ramadan period.

She urged for concerted efforts in tackling vulnerability, which keeps increasing, whenever a catastrophe occurs.

“All hands must be on deck to bring succour to people. We have been together with NEMA working for the state. I thank the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for bringing the support to us,” the Deputy Governor stressed.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, has donated essential food items to 2,450 vulnerable households in the state.

The initiative, targeted at Internally Displaced persons (IDPs), orphans, widows, the elderly, and other at-risk individuals across different communities is part of the ETA’AM Basket Project in the Federal Republic of Nigeria 2025, aims to provide much-needed relief to families facing food insecurity in the state.

The food assistance program is implemented in partnership with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and aligns with KSrelief’s mission of supporting humanitarian efforts globally.

The donation consists of staple food items that will help improve nutrition and sustain families in need during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

At the official flag-off ceremony at Damare IDPs Camp in Girei LGA of the State, the DG of NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, expressed gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its continued support to Nigeria.

She said the assistance aligns with the commitment of both nations at a crucial time, reinforcing efforts to alleviate hunger and enhance food security during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia remains a committed partner in humanitarian relief, and this intervention underscores its unwavering dedication to global solidarity and the well-being of vulnerable populations in Nigeria.

The Saudi delegation was led by Mr, Yusuf Abdulkarim.
