Minister Olawande Receives Award For Advancing Youth Empowerment

The Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande has been honoured with the Ufuk Dialogue and Institute of Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) Appreciation Award in recognition of his commitment to youth empowerment in Nigeria.

The award was presented by the Director General of the Committee of Youth on Mobilization and Sensitization (CYMS), Mr. Obinna Nwaka, following the launch of a book in his honour titled ‘Before the Next Move. ‘

Mr Nwaka commended the Minister for his impactful initiatives, highlighting his strong synergy with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR in creating opportunities for Nigerian youth.

A key moment of the briefing was the Minister’s recognition of President Tinubu’s initiative to grant automatic employment to 774 young Nigerians through the National Health Fellows Programme, a move praised for its role in tackling youth unemployment.

While presenting the award, Nwaka expressed appreciation for the Ministry’s dedication to empowering young people. “This award is not just a recognition of your hard work but a testament to the Ministry of Youth Development’s unwavering commitment to building a brighter future for Nigeria’s next generation,” he stated.

Minister Olawande gratefully received the award, acknowledging the collective efforts of his team and the importance of collaboration in achieving the Ministry’s objectives.

The event, held at the Peace Summit, reinforces the Ministry’s mission to enhance youth opportunities and foster sustainable development in Nigeria.
