The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Council in Anambra State has pledged to purchase the All Progressives Grand Alliance,  (APGA), nomination form for Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s re-election campaign ahead of the upcoming governorship election set for November 8, 2025.

During a press briefing in Awka, the state capital, the Chairman of the Council, Comrade Okoye Matthew Okpara, made this announcement, highlighting the students’ desire to support the governor in recognition of his exemplary leadership.

Okpara, who also serves as the National Coordinator of the Solution Students Movement of Nigeria, urged Governor Soludo to publicly declare his intention to run for a second term without delay.

He emphasised the need for this declaration, stating that failure to announce his candidacy within the next 30 days would compel the students to stage peaceful protests across major cities in the state, including Awka, Onitsha, Nnewi, and Ekwulobia.

“The election is just nine months away, and the governor has yet to make his intentions known,” Okpara remarked.

“We, the students of Anambra State, under the auspices of NANS and the Solution Students Movement of Nigeria, are prepared to procure the nomination forms on his behalf. Our goal is to demonstrate our commitment to the welfare of Anambra students and acknowledge the governor’s transformative policies in the state,” he said

He emphasised that the protests, if necessary, would be peaceful and aimed solely at encouraging the governor to articulate his ambitions for a second term.

Okpara pointed to programs such as the “One Youth Two Skills” acquisition initiative, which has benefitted many students, as evidence of the governor’s dedication to youth development.
