Nigerian Kadaria Ahmed Joins One World Media’s Board of Trustees

One World Media has appointed Kadaria Ahmed, a Nigerian Journalist and media Entrepreneur, as a member of its Board of Trustees.

Announcing her appointment to members of International Press Institute Nigeria, Ahmed said she was delighted to be part of the Board which will enable her to put to bear her wealth of experience in Journalism.

“I am very pleased to announce that I have joined the board of One World Media as a trustee. At a time of deepening fractures globally, the rise of misinformation and disinformation, credible journalism and authentic stories are tools that can be used to fight injustice, foster understanding, deepen community and promote our shared humanity,” she said.

Mrs. Ahmed highlighted the significant work that One World Media has been engaged in for decades, noting its ongoing expansion and deepening impact.

“I am excited at the opportunity I have been afforded to use my expertise, experience and network to contribute to this important work. I hope I can count on all of you to support us, when I reach out to you,” she added.

Kadaria Ahmed is recognised for her work in accountability Journalism. She serves on the Nigerian Board of Trustees of the International Press Institute and has received grants from organisations such as the Ford Foundation and the MacArthur Foundation.

One World Media has also announced the appointment of Peter Horrocks, OBE as its new Chair. Peter, who has served in an interim capacity for the past 12 months, brings extensive experience in media and economic development.

He has played an instrumental role in shaping the organisation’s direction and will now lead its next steps towards strengthening ties with Journalists, filmmakers, and media organisations globally.

One World Media is a UK-based non-profit organisation committed to supporting journalists and filmmakers globally in producing stories that inform and connect people across cultures.

Established over 35 years ago, the organisation aims to promote strong, vibrant, and independent media that empower citizens, promote justice, and contribute to international development.
