Tambuwal Distributes Ramadan Palliatives to 30,000 Homes in Sokoto

The former Sokoto State Governor, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has flagged off the distribution of rice and other items to over 30,000 households across 23 local government areas of the state.

 

Inaugurating the exercise in Sokoto, Senator Tambuwal expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for witnessing yet another Ramadan and acknowledged the preveiledge of observing the sacred period.

 

He emphasised the importance of reflection, generosity and prayers for continued health and prosperity.

Community support

Tambuwal who is a Senator representing Sokoto South Senatorial District under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said the initiative underscores the party commitments to unity, compassion and community support during the holy month.

 

He lauded the unwavering dedication of the PDP’s leadership in Sokoto State, highlighting their efforts in organising, mobilizing, and strengthening the party.

 

Senator Tambuwal reaffirmed the party’s unity and resilience, expressing determination to reclaim their mandate following the previous elections.

 

By Allah’s grace, through strategic efforts, determination and unwavering commitments, justice shall be restored within a possible time to come,” he said.

 

Former Governor Tambuwal further commended legislatures elected under the platform of PDP for their dedication to serving their constituents.

 

Engagement and true leadership

He praised their consistent engagement and true leadership, which reflect their commitment to service.

 

He also gave special recognition to the younger generation within the party for initiating a groundbreaking program aimed at empowering team members and the youth, a first in Sokoto.

 

This initiative signifies a new chapter in the community’s progress and development.

 

“This year’s Ramadan outreach program aims to provide aid to 30,000 households across Sokoto State.

 

“This initiative embodies the true essence of Ramadan, compassion, charity, and unity. I urged those responsible for distribution to ensure that the aid reaches its rightful beneficiaries, in accordance with the established plan,” he stated.

 

Resilience and patience

Tambuwal appreciated party supporters and stakeholders for their resilience and patience while assuring more dividends of democracy are underway for sustainable development.

 

Earlier, the State PDP Chairman, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, thanked Senator Tambuwal for the gesture which he said would go a long way in reducing hardship among party members in the state.

 

He said this year’s aid double that of last year and cut across all the 23 local government areas of the state.

 

He further applauded other party members that extended same gesture to their people.

 

Goronyo further seeks more unity among party members to ensure landslide victory come 2027 general elections at all level.

 

The event was attended by former Sokoto State Deputy Governor, Manir Muhammad Dan’iya, PDP Gubernatorial Candidate in 2023 election, Malam Sai’idu Umar (Ubandoma), State and House of Representatives members, party stakeholders and supporters across the state.
