The Chairman of the National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria (NACHPN), Ebonyi State Chapter, Chetachi Usulor has commended Governor Francis Nwifuru for his transformative efforts in the state’s health sector.

Usulor praised the Governor’s decision to recruit 328 registered community health practitioners, describing it as ‘a significant step toward enhancing healthcare service delivery.’

The deployment of these health practitioners across the 13 local government areas will boost workforce productivity and improve healthcare accessibility in Ebonyi State,” she said in a statement issued in Abakaliki on Thursday.

Usulor also highlighted the administration’s commitment to maternal and child healthcare, noting that “Governor Nwifuru has consistently prioritized the sector since assuming office.

Your Excellency, we appreciate your engagement of over 300 Registered Community Health Practitioners (RCHPs) in primary healthcare centers and the recruitment of some of our members into the state civil service in 2024,” Usulor said.

She further commended him for the renovation of public health facilities, emphasizing its role in revitalising the state’s healthcare system.

We assure you of our unwavering support and pray for God’s wisdom and good health to guide you in advancing Ebonyi State’s development,” Usulor said.

Acknowledging the efforts of key health officials, including the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Moses Ekuma, and the Special Assistant to the Governor on Primary Health, Dr. Sabinus Nwibo, she praised their dedication to revitalising the sector.

Usulor reaffirmed NACHPN’s commitment to supporting the Governor’s health transformation agenda, pledging that its members would uphold professionalism and ensure quality service delivery.

She also recalled the state government’s collaboration with the World Bank in organising an orientation programme for newly engaged Skilled Birth Attendants (SBAs), aimed at improving maternal and child healthcare.

We appreciate the structured deployment of the 328 newly recruited health workers across 164 primary healthcare facilities, ensuring effective service delivery and reducing maternal and child mortality rates,” she noted.
