MTN Nigeria to Build Eko Atlantic Headquarters
MTN Nigeria, the country’s largest telecom operator, has announced plans to construct its new headquarters in Eko Atlantic City, joining major firms such as First Bank, Dangote Group, and the United States Embassy in relocating to the burgeoning coastal business hub.
Renowned for its modern infrastructure, Eko Atlantic is set to become one of Nigeria’s premier commercial centres.
MTN Nigeria CEO Karl Toriola confirmed the project on Wednesday at the MyLagosApp launch event in Lagos.
The new headquarters will mark MTN as the first telecom company to invest in Eko Atlantic, underlining its confidence in the city as a leading business destination.
“Beyond connectivity, we are committed to making long-term investments in Lagos. As part of this commitment, we have acquired land in Eko Atlantic City and will commence construction once the necessary equipment is available,” Toriola stated.
Eko Atlantic, launched in 2008 with land reclamation beginning the same year, is situated adjacent to Victoria Island, Lagos’ main business district.

Designed to be a state-of-the-art commercial hub, it has drawn the interest of corporations, real estate investors, and high-profile organisations seeking a well-planned urban environment.
Land prices in the area range from $1,050 to $1,200 per square meter depending on size and location, with additional costs potentially raising overall expenses.
In addition to its headquarters, MTN Nigeria is building West Africa’s largest Tier 4 data center on the Lagos mainland.
The facility, capable of housing 1,500 racks, will operate as a carrier-neutral hub, providing connectivity for multiple Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and cloud service providers.
“With seven degrees of connectivity, this facility will be the most sophisticated data hub in the region, further solidifying Nigeria’s position as a leader in digital transformation,” Toriola said.
The dual projects highlight MTN Nigeria’s commitment to both infrastructure and technological advancement, positioning the company as a key player in Lagos’ evolving business landscape.
