Five African Countries Participate in London International Book Fair
Five African countries—Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Tanzania, and Gabon—are actively participating in the London International Book Fair (LIBF) in the United Kingdom.
The LIBF is a premier global event that brings together publishers, booksellers, authors, and key stakeholders in the book industry. This year’s fair, themed “Defining the Future of Creative Content,” has seen a notable increase in the participation of audiobook publishers, as well as a growing presence from Asia and Canada, according to Gaphet Rapley, Portfolio Manager for the event.
Luqman Dauda, President of the Nigerian Publishers Network, emphasized the importance of the fair as a platform for networking and staying informed on the latest trends in the publishing industry. Having engaged with over 15 participants from across Africa, he urged the Nigerian government to invest in international book fairs.
He highlighted that discussions on artificial intelligence and the future of publishing remain central at such global events, stressing the need for Nigeria to stay competitive in the evolving literary landscape.
