The Nigerian Army’s Operation Lafiyan Jama’a has achieved significant victories in Taraba State, located in northeastern Nigeria.
The Commander of 6 Brigade, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, has commended the troops for their bravery and gallantry.
The operation, which spans across the 16 local government areas in Taraba State, aims to dismantle bandit networks and restore peace and security. This is crucial in enabling residents to engage in farming activities without fear.
The troops have successfully cleared multiple bandit hideouts, including the villages of Komodoro, Ginarunbu, Chibi, Chikum, Bitriklin, Mashigi Kirya, Jamaga, and Wagal.
Several abandoned bandit camps have been discovered and destroyed, further crippling criminal activities in the area.

Captain Oni Olubodunde, the spokesperson of the Brigade, in a statement said with the improved security situation, residents can now engage in farming activities without fear, promoting economic growth and development.
General Uwa praised the troops for their resilience and urged them to sustain the momentum against banditry, kidnapping, and other criminal activities.
He emphasized the importance of remaining vigilant, decisive, and proactive in ensuring that Taraba State remains unsafe for criminals.
Brigadier General Uwa said the Nigerian Army remains committed to restoring lasting peace and stability in Taraba and beyond, working tirelessly to protect lives and property.
He encouraged the public to support security agencies by providing credible information that will aid ongoing operations.
