U.S. Vice President Confident of TikTok Agreement by April
U.S. Vice President JD Vance has expressed confidence that a “high-level” agreement on TikTok’s operations in the United States will be reached by early April.
This follows the enactment of a law in January requiring ByteDance, TikTok’s Chinese parent company, to divest its U.S. operations or face a possible ban over national security concerns. President Donald Trump later issued an executive order postponing the enforcement of this law by 75 days, extending the deadline to 5 April.
Negotiations are ongoing with four potential buyers regarding TikTok’s ownership and future in the U.S. Vice President Vance and National Security Adviser Michael Waltz are leading these discussions, with Vance confident that the final agreement will resolve national security concerns and establish TikTok as a separate American entity.
