RMD, Toyin Abraham, Don Jazzy, Peller Win Silverbird Awards

Nigerian actors Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), Toyin Abraham, and renowned record producer Michael Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, were among the recipients of the 2025 Silverbird Awards in recognition of their contributions to the entertainment industry.

They were honored alongside other distinguished Nigerians at the annual award ceremony, which took place on Sunday night at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos.

Don Jazzy received the Extraordinary Achievement Award, while RMD was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Other awardees included popular TikToker Habeeb Hazmat, also known as Peller, who won the Influencer of the Year Award. Meanwhile, Toyin Abraham and Chidi Mokeme were recognized with the Trailblazer Awards.

The awards, which span various fields of endeavor, also recognized Ekiti State Governor Abiodun Oyebanji with the prestigious Silverbird Man of the Year Award.

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Enugu State counterpart, Peter Mbah, were honored with the Distinguished Governors of the Year Award, while the Minister of Works, Dr. David Umahi, received the Minister of the Year Award.

The Silverbird Man of the Year Award, established in 2006, is an annual event celebrating individuals who have made significant contributions across sectors such as business, politics, and entertainment.

The ceremony also serves as a platform for political discourse, where government policies are reviewed, speeches are delivered, and outstanding individuals are recognized for their excellence in various fields.

Notable recipients of previous editions include P-Square, Olu Jacobs, Aliko Dangote, Akinwumi Adesina, and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, among others.
