A chieftain of the Labour Party, LP in Ebonyi State, Southeast Nigeria, Dr Emmanuel Ezeh has rated the immediate past governor of the state and serving Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi as the best performing Minister in President Tinubu’s administration.

Dr. Ezeh who was the party’s Candidate for Abakaliki/Izzi Federal Constituency of Ebonyi State in the 2023 general elections made the observation in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, while exchanging views with newsmen on Umahi’s recent award by Silverbird, as the best performing minister, in the current dispensation.

He noted that as a former governor of Ebonyi State, Umahi left some indelible footprints in the sands of time, adding that he has remained an indispensable factor in the political space of the state.

“As a minister, Senator David Umahi has done marvelously well within the short period he has been in office as minister and also as a former governor of Ebonyi State. I believe that his political value can hardly go unnoticed, come 2027 general elections.”

Eze further said, “Come 2027, Umahi will still be a force to reckon with in the politics of Ebonyi State, unless the current governor makes a sharp U-turn.”

The Labour Party stalwart also advised Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, to be focused in his policies, and embrace evidence based governance.

“I want to advise my brother, Governor Francis Nwifuru to eschew emotion-driven style of leadership. Governor Nwifuru should be conscious of the fact that good governance is driven by data, and try to be guided by this principle,” Dr. Ezeh said.
