Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has vowed a debt-free infrastructure development, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to executing developmental projects without resorting to bank loans.

Governor Sule stated this at a Ramadan (Iftar) breaking of fast event where he hosted media executives, members of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Nasarawa State Council, and the Correspondents’ Chapel, at his residence in Lafia, the state capital.

He revealed that upon assuming office, his administration inherited a ₦57 billion debt from the previous government but successfully cleared it.
Despite this, he assured that his administration remains focused on delivering more infrastructural projects across the state.

Governor Sule emphasized on the critical role of journalists in governance and public accountability.

Governor Sule announced that contracts had been awarded for the Keffi Roundabout flyover, the completion of the Akwanga underpass, and the dualization of roads in Akwanga.

He stressed that Nasarawa is among the few states in the country currently without outstanding debts.

As his administration enters its final two years, Governor Sule vowed to accelerate infrastructure development, ensuring that the people of Nasarawa State benefit from his government’s policies.

In his remarks, NUJ Chairman, Nasarawa State Council, Comrade Salihu Alkali, lauded the cordial relationship between the union and the state government.

He noted that the Ramadan Iftar gathering would further strengthen collaboration between the media and the administration.
