New Kano State CP Pledges Proactive Approach to Security Issues

The New Commissioner of Police deployed to Kano State North West Nigeria, CP Ibrahim Bakori has pledged Robust Proactive Approach in tackling emerging security threats in the state.

CP Bakori made the pledge at a maiden interaction with Journalists at the command’s Headquarters Bompai, Kano.

He expressed the commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and accountability in the service.

CP Bakori explained that, after obtaining briefs from his predecessor, AIG Salman Dogo and the Command’s Management Team, the crime pattern of the State has been carefully studied and analyzed with a comprehensive action plan already developed to address the emerging issues that threaten the collective peace and security of Kano State.

“We will deploy proactive strategies to prevent and respond to thuggery-related incidents including mobile phone armed robbery, ensuring the protection of lives and properties.”

CP Bakori explained that, the under his leadership will collaborate with relevant stakeholders to combat the scourge of drug abuse, providing support for rehabilitation and ensuring reintegration programs.

On Cyber Crimes CP Bakori said , “We will diligently work with our specialized units to tackle Cyber-related crimes, fraud and other financial crimes, leveraging technology and expertise to arrest and prosecute perpetrators.”

“We will strengthen our response mechanisms to address domestic violence, ensuring that victims receive timely and effective support.”

Kidnappings:

On Kidnapping along border LGA, the New CP pledged to enhance intelligence gathering capabilities and collaborate with local communities and neighboring states to prevent and respond to kidnapping incidents along our borders.

He promised to improve border patrols and ensure capacity building of personnel towards enhancing their skills and competencies to tackle complex security challenges.

CP Bakori also, pledged to leverage on advanced technology and human intelligence to anticipate and respond to emerging threats as well as Synergy with sister security agencies.

“To achieve these objectives, the Command outlined the following strategic priorities: Community Policing: We will foster strong partnerships with local communities, building trust and collaboration to prevent and resolve conflicts.”

“The issue of security is a collective responsibility that require a holistic approach and active involvement of everyone.”
